Where To Stay in Bantayan: Anika Island Resort

Anika Island Resort is on the the quieter side of the island,  with only a few resorts but a bit farther from the market and restaurants (which is actually a good thing if you want to avoid the crowds).

I found Anika to be a quaint and cute little resort, which is a big plus because all the rooms are just a few steps away from the beach front. I also loved their idea of using recycled cargo containers and converting them into air-conditioned rooms. I was pleasantly surprised by how good our room looks.

Courtyard rooms

We got the Courtyard Room, their smallest and cheapest one, which costs P1,500 per night and is good for 2 pax only. Room space is very limited as our double bed occupied almost the entire floor area, and it was already felt quite snug for my friend and I. But the bathroom was decent in size and the balcony was also quite big.

We had free towels and toiletries but breakfast is not included with the room rates. Their food, especially the fish dishes, were delicious. Meals were reasonably priced at about less than P200 each. We were quite disappointed though that they were out of danggit (dried fish, which Bantayan is known for). 😦

Service is quite good, and the staff are friendly. We also appreciated the free shuttle to and from the port.
